Can I order a membership as a gift?

Yes, place your order and email info@blackflannel.com to let us know who the membership is for, their first & last name, email address, and phone number and we will update our database. Want to order more as gifts? Follow this link.

how old do I have to be to participate?

The member must be 21 or older.  You may purchase a gift membership for someone 21 or older even if you are not yet 21.  Members ID will be confirmed on their first visit identifying themselves as a Raven & Anvil Club member.

What happens if I miss the monthly beer pick-up window?

Members have 15 days after the start of each month to pick up their allotted 4 pack included with their membership. This helps us better manage distribution of member benefits. If you need to miss your pick-up window for any reason, please email us at info@blackflannel.com in advance and we will do all we can to accommodate.

What beer styles can I pick-up each month?

Anything we currently have in 4 packs at the brewery and it's usually a nice selection of at least 8-12 different beer styles.

What is in our welcome kit?

Be on the lookout in the next couple weeks. All materials (except your membership card) will be in PDF format so you can store it on your phone for reference or print at your convenience. There will be a general information booklet, background information related to our various operations, and a plethora of craft beer education materials to start you down the rabbit hole.

What's the big deal about being a founding member?

Creating Black Flannel Brewing Company with economic, social, and environmental sustainability in mind, we opened as the most energy efficient brewery/distillery/restaurant (respectively) in the state of Vermont. In launching this membership program, it is our goal to further engage our community of loyal fans, provide great benefits, further educate on what craft beer, food, and spirits can and should be, and most of all, invest in our continued efforts to remain an industry leader in environmental sustainability. In the coming year (and beyond), we have a nice surprise or two up our sleeve for founding members.

How will I know about early release opportunities?

We will send email notifications to let members know about upcoming bottle and can releases so you will have the information well before the general public.

What can I expect for special members only releases?

We're currently designing new beer recipes to brew in very small batches. Most of these will be released in bottles and won't be available to the general public. We're not saying yet what specifically they will be, but suffice it to say they are not styles or recipes we've released before, and you won't likely find at other breweries. They will be available at a nominal fee in order to cover cost of materials.

How do I receive 10% off bottle release purchases?

You will receive a membership card shortly after joining. Bring your card in and show it to the host along with your order and they will apply your discount. If you forget your member card (or have not yet received it), just let them know you are a Raven & Anvil Club member, your name, and they will be able to match it to our database at the host stand.

What happens if I want to purchase more than 4 bottles?

You will receive the member discount of 10% on up to 4 bottles. Each bottle after is full price.

How do I receive 10% off my food purchase at the brewpub?

What happens if I am with a party of more than 4 people?

How do I receive my discount on merchandise?

I want to be a member of the Distillery club. How do I join?

Easy... contact us at info@blackflannel.com to verify your membership and we will provide you with a discount code. Then follow this LINK and apply the discount code at checkout. With this discount code you will receive an additional $30 discount off the distillery membership.

When is Oktoberfest and how to I get my tickets?

Our next Oktoberfest celebration will be held on Saturday September 24, 2022. We had over 600 people in 2021 and expect 2022 to be even bigger. We will release more information next summer so you will have plenty of time to plan and receive your tickets in advance. Each ticket will be good for one beer or food item at Oktoberfest. Entry to the event is free and you just pay as you go.

How do I sign up for a craft beer education class/event?

We are hard at work planning the next round of classes. We'll have more information toward year end and will send an email to members with a tentative schedule and course descriptions. 2022 will be the year to up your craft beer game!

I'd love a VIP tour. When are they and how do I participate?

Before year end, we will email a schedule of VIP tours so you can plan and sign-up for one next year. It's an extended tour that covers equipment, process, and a discussion of the energy efficiency measures and processes we put in place. We know you're going to be impressed and come away with a new understanding of the hard work and engineering that goes into a facility like ours. Plus, we're the only brewery and distillery combination in the state - so there's that.

What is the Flannel Panel and how do I get involved?

Being the only brewery in the State of Vermont with more than one Certified Cicerone on staff (we have Four), we take beer quality and service seriously and have been asked by other restaurants to train them how to provide the best beer service possible. In addition to testing our beer in a professional beer lab, we have a sensory tasting panel we dubbed the "Flannel Panel" comprised of a mix of professional tasters, beer judges, Certified Cicerones, Cicerone Certified Beer Servers, and novice craft beer fans alike. There is great value in getting perceptions on our beer from craft beer drinkers with a wide range of experience in tasting and evaluating beer. This is our "inner circle" of friends and as a member of the Raven & Anvil club, you are hereby invited to join this inner circle. Our flannel panel coordinator will email everyone who is currently on the panel when a panel takes place (1-4 times per month). You have already been added to the distribution list so you won't need to do anything unless you prefer not to participate in which case, please send an email to info@blackflannel.com and let us know you prefer not to participate.

Food & beer pairing dinner? I'm in. What are the details?

More details to come but we have Chef and Certified Cicerone led beer & food pairing dinners that have received much acclaim from those who have attended our events so far. Stay tuned for more information.

What kind of Members-only events will you have?

We are in the process of planning a number of events, some of which will be ticketed, some of which will be free. These will include private mixers/socials, Cicerone-led tastings, reduced-price beer releases, and more.

How do I access the private members-only Facebook Group?

You will receive an email to let you know when the group is ready to go. You can request access and the admin will approve you from there. You will continue to have access as long as you continue to be a Raven & Anvil Club member.

Do I need to sign up for the quarterly member email newsletter?

No, you were added to the list automatically when you joined. If you would like to opt-out of receiving the quarterly email newsletter, just let us know (but we think you'll be very sad if you do).
