Description: Aquavit — literally “water of life” — has long been central to Scandinavian tables, historically paired with food and festive occasions.
Vermont’s only locally made aquavit, we follow time-honored Nordic traditions while expressing our own sense of place.
At its core, it’s a botanical spirit driven by caraway layered with complementary herbs & spices. That structure makes it as versatile as gin behind the bar — equally compelling in a Negroni variation, a bright citrus highball, or a savory, herbal cocktail. Also makes a great Bloody Mary.
Built to be shared, it shines neat alongside food or raised in a toast — exactly as it has for generations. Goes great with many food offerings including Smash Burgers, Bavarian Pretzels, & Nashville Hot Chicken.

Dill’lish
2 oz Black Flannel Viking Aquavit
.5 oz Cointreau
.5 oz Lemon Juice
.25 oz Simple Syrup
3 Dashes Orange Bitters
1 Pinch Fresh Dill
Shake, strain into a chilled coupe glass.
Rollo’s refresher
1.75 oz Black Flannel Viking Aquavit
.25 oz Black Flannel London Calling Dry Gin
.5 oz Pineapplpe Juice
.25 oz Lemon Juice
2 Cucumber Slices
3 oz Club Soda
Muddle cucumber. Add spirits, juice, syrup. Shake & strain into a highball glass over fresh ice. Fill with club soda.
Garnish with a tarragon leaf

1.25 oz Campari
1.25 oz Red Ruby Grapefruit Juice
Shake, strain into a salt-rimmed rocks glass over ice.
Garnish with a fresh dill sprig.
Shield Maiden
1 oz Black Flannel Viking Aquavit
1 oz Strega Liqueur
1 oz Aperol
1 oz Lemon Juice
Shake and strain into a chilled coupe.
Garnish with a cherry.
Viking Gimlet
2 oz Black Flannel Viking Aquavit
1 oz Lime Juice
1 oz Simple Syrup
Shake, strain into a chilled coupe.
Garnish with a lime wheel.
Nordic Negroni
1 oz Black Flannel Viking Aquavit
1 oz Campari
1 oz Lillet Blanc
Stir in mixing glass 3/4 filled with ice (30 sec).
Strain into rocks glass with large cube.
Garnish with a slice of grapefruit.
Blackbeard
.75 oz Black Flannel Viking Aquavit
1.5 oz Black Flannel London Calling Dry Gin
.75 oz Pineapple Juice
.5 oz Lemon Juice
.5 oz Agave Syrup
4 Blackberries
Muddle berries in shaker. Add ingredients – dry shake, and open pour into a double rocks glass. Top with crushed ice.
Garnish with a mint sprig.
