Distilled Spirits On-site
All of our canned cocktails are mixed with spirits we make right here on site field-to-glass. We start buy selecting the highest quality raw materials and process them so the fermentation process has plenty of fermentable sugars available from the original sugar source (like Agave, Malted barley, Rye, Wheat, Demerara Sugar, white beets, and many others). We ferment with select yeast strains with the final spirit in mind. We then run each spirit through the still twice and only use the highest quality “hearts” of each distillation. We finish (barrel age or infuse botanicals depending on the spirit) and the spirit is then ready to be mixed with other fresh ingredients to produce a canned cocktail.
Fresh ingredients
We source local fresh ingredients like the cucumber used in our Cool Hand Cuke. Freshly distilled spirits are mixed with other ingredients and canned within a few hours. Unlike many other canned cocktails on the market that taste like flavored soda water, we include only a very small amount of carbonated liquid to help maintain can rigidity. Each ingredient in the can serves a distinct purpose contributing to a complex flavor profile.

When we design each ready-to-drink canned cocktail in our line, we start with a base Black Flannel spirit and a final flavor profile in mind. We target a low ABV (6%) for each. We perform intense R&D and testing for a long shelf-life. We’re not gonna lie, most brands of canned cocktails we’ve tried over the last 5 years have been, shall we say, not that great (to put it kindly). Our goal was to make every cocktail we put in a can give the customer a similar experience to having a freshly make cocktail from a professional bar program. We think you’ll taste the difference in every one of our cocktails.

Keeping every cocktail we can at 6% ABV gives the customer the ability to enjoy more than one responsibly. They are very well balanced so you can taste the base spirit, along with each ingredient we list on the can. They are so refreshing, they will leave you wanting to come back again and again.
