Chobot & Glass: Dueling Pianos

JOSHUA GLASS and ANDRIANA CHOBOT—singer-songwriters, pianists, and longtime veterans of the Burlington, Vermont music scene—join forces for a series of “piano duels” guaranteed to break your heart into a million pieces…and leave you laughing too hard to sweep it all up.

Glass, with a “pop sensibility and improvisational style reminiscent of Allen Toussaint” (BURLINGTON CITY ARTS), and Chobot, with a “theatrical voice that likely owes some debt to the emotionally forthright work of Rufus Wainwright and Sarah McLachlan” (SEVEN DAYS), only recently started blending together their respective catalogs of indie-pop, rock, neo-soul, and blues. In the process, they add a carnival of synths, soulful harmonies, and wild improvisation into the mix. Onstage, the duo contrasts their growing repertoire of tightly-constructed songs with a loose, cabaret-style atmosphere—featuring comedy bits, games, costumes, and hilariously unpredictable spins on classic rock and pop songs.

Often joined by fellow Burlington staple ANDREW BEDARD on drums and percussion, Joshua and Andriana continue to generate buzz with their increasingly busy show schedule and endless bag of tricks.
